Atalanta Part Ways with Juric as Palladino Lines Up to Take Charge

Atalanta have sacked Ivan Juric after a heavy 3-0 home defeat to Sassuolo pushed the club further down the Serie A table and deepened an already worrying run of form.

Juric, who took over in June after Gian Piero Gasperini’s long reign, never managed to ignite the momentum that carried Atalanta to third place last season. Just two wins in 11 matches and an 11-point gap to leaders Inter Milan ultimately forced the club’s hand.

“Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as first team coach,” the club confirmed. “We thank him and his staff for their hard work and wish them all the best for the future.”

Juric’s managerial journey has been chaotic in recent seasons. He lasted less than two months at Roma in late 2024 following Daniele De Rossi’s dismissal, before moving to Southampton only to depart a day after the club’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.

The focus now shifts to his successor, with former Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino widely tipped to step in. Atalanta will resume their campaign after the international break with a trip to Napoli on 22 November, hoping a fresh start brings a much-needed turnaround.
