Brondby Suffer Setback as Nicolai Vallys Ruled Out Through Injury

Brondby have been dealt a major setback with confirmation that playmaker Nicolai Vallys has picked up an injury that will sideline him for the club’s upcoming Danish Superliga fixtures.

Head coach Steve Cooper confirmed the news during a press conference on Friday, revealing that the injury was almost inevitable given the team’s demanding schedule, which saw them play three away matches in just six days against OB, FC Nordsjaelland, and Silkeborg.

“Last week’s program wasn’t fair to any team, but it hit us,” Cooper said. “I think it was almost inevitable there would be an injury victim, and unfortunately, it was Vallys. It’s not a long-term injury, but it hasn’t gone away yet. We’ll work hard to get him ready as soon as possible, and I’ll focus on those who are available.”

The Brondby boss also provided updates on several other players currently on the sidelines. Sean Klaiber remains unavailable and is set to miss Sunday’s fixture, while Sho Fukuda has returned to training after recovering from illness, though Cooper admitted it may be too soon for him to feature.

Brondby will face FC Nordsjaelland on Sunday evening, with kick-off set for 20:00 local time.
