Tottenham would consider January bid for Rodrygo if Real Madrid make him available

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close eye on Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid and would be open to exploring a move if the Brazilian forward becomes available in January.
Spurs were among several Premier League clubs linked with the 23-year-old during the summer, though no formal contact was made at the time. Rodrygo has since endured a frustrating campaign in Spain, struggling for regular minutes under Xabi Alonso, and a potential departure in the upcoming window has not been ruled out.
Sources close to Tottenham say the club is currently finalising its list of January targets, with plans to establish firm options before the end of this month. While Rodrygo is not believed to be an active pursuit at this stage, Spurs would be prepared to act quickly should Madrid signal a willingness to sell or loan the player.
The North London side have been carefully assembling a shortlist of attacking options over the past two weeks. Savinho and Ademola Lookman are among the forwards who have been monitored since the summer, as Thomas Frank looks to strengthen his front line ahead of a busy second half of the season.
Tottenham’s recruitment team are said to be wary of wasting time chasing unrealistic deals, but Rodrygo’s situation is viewed internally as one worth reacting to if circumstances change.
The Brazilian international began the season with concerns about his playing time, and those fears have been realised. He has started just two La Liga matches and one Champions League fixture so far, with Alonso preferring to give opportunities to younger stars such as Arda Güler and Franco Mastantuono.
With Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool all previously showing varying levels of interest, Rodrygo could find himself at the centre of renewed Premier League attention this winter.
If the winger decides to pursue a move away from the Santiago Bernabéu, Tottenham are understood to be ready to position themselves among the potential suitors particularly if a deal presents good value in a competitive January market.
